Primary Fibromyxosarcoma of Heart

Abstract

Lymburner reported 4 cases of heart tumor among 8,500 of autopsies. Most of heart tumors were myxoma arising from left atrium. Contrary to myxoma sarcomas from on right atrium.
Presenting report is a rare case at heart tumor arising from right atrinm directly metastatized to right chest cavity through vena cava and mediastinum experienced at Baptist Hospital, Pusan, Korea on Nov. 1966. This 11 yrs old girl died during operation with massive bleeding from vena cava. Yellow larger lobulated fat masses expanded right chest cavity and the right lung was collapsed remaining small aeration on upper part of the upper lobe. The metastatic mass in chest cavity weight 5,000 gm. Primary pedicle.
Pathologic examination of the tumor shows fibromyxosarcoma.
